Terms

Please read them before you pay.

Who I am

Fairhost is run by Michelle Norton, a holiday-let host in the UK.

You can contact me through the contact page.

Your booking site

  • Your site will be ready within 7 days of me receiving everything I need from you: your photos, property details, prices, house rules and calendar links.
  • If something is missing, the 7 days start when I have it.
  • I can only work with the information you give me. You are responsible for making sure it is accurate, and that you have the right to use the photos and words you send.
  • You pay £50 to start. I then show you your finished site before it goes live.
  • If you are happy, you pay the £145 balance and your site goes live.
  • If you are not happy, tell me what is wrong and I will put it right. If you still do not want it, you do not pay the £145. The £50 pays for the build and is non-refundable.
  • Your site and your own web address, if you have one, are yours. If you want to move to another company, I will give you what you need, free of charge.

After your site is live

  • Keeping your site online is free.
  • I do not make changes as part of the £195. I tell you the price of any change before I start, and only start once you agree.
  • You are responsible for your prices, availability, house rules and what you say to guests.
  • Calendars on Airbnb and Booking.com update on their own timetable. You must check a booking request against your calendar before you accept it.

Booking documents

  • The booking documents are template wording for UK holiday lets. They are not legal advice, and I am not a solicitor.
  • You fill them in yourself and you decide how to use them. If you want certainty, have your own version checked.
  • You can use them as soon as you pay. Because you get them straight away, you agree that you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once they are unlocked.

Guest registration form link

  • £10 a year, paid in advance. It renews each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and it stops at the end of the year you have paid for.
  • Guests' details go straight to your email. I do not keep them.
  • You are responsible for keeping the record for as long as the law says, and for showing it to the police if they ask.

Instant bookings

  • £25 a month, paid in advance. You can cancel at any time, and it stops at the end of the month you have paid for.
  • Instant bookings rely on other companies, including Airbnb and Booking.com. I am not responsible if their systems are slow or stop working.

Card payments

  • The £40 setup is a one-off fee for connecting your own Stripe account.
  • Stripe charges you its own fee on each card payment. Your Stripe account and the money in it are yours.

If something goes wrong

  • If there is a problem, tell me and I will try to put it right quickly.
  • I am not responsible for lost bookings, lost income or problems caused by other companies, such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Stripe or your web address provider.
  • If I am responsible for a loss, the most I will pay is what you paid me in the 12 months before it happened.
  • Nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights.

Your details

I use your name, email and property details to do the work you have paid for and to contact you about it.

I do not share them, except with the companies that make the service work, such as Stripe for payments.

The law

The law of England and Wales applies to these terms.
